Repro dash are usually pretty hit and miss on their quality of fitment :( for my 77 I got mine from LMC. Fitment is alright but not OEM. I've heard some pretty negative things about their dash pads recently, though.

A good trick to keep rubber seals in good shape is to massage Sil-Glyde brake lube into the rubber. The stuff wont wash off and it keeps the moisture in the rubber. After you have it all lubed up then wash the excess off so that you don't have brake grease all over the place. It works on every type of rubber molding.

Im not sure what the issue is with the cheap rubber stuff. It seems to me that its a moisture issue where the stuff dries out for what ever reason. Anyways its worth a shot.

I wouldn't waste your $ on the cheap repro's on the market. The plastic cover seems to look better then the repro's if installed right! Or just redo it your self. That's what Im gonna do. Actually Im gonna remove all the old foam and vinyl from my dash and paint it up until I get around to it later this year or next spring. Im gonna wrap my door panels and head liner with the same vinyl when I do, do it. Which hopefully will match my bench seat LOL

Sylglide is great stuff. One word of warning tho. Be sure you are not going to need to paint around that area because paint and silicone don't play nice together.

This is about as close as you are going to get to OEM at a fair price. You could send it off and have it refurbished at around 1200.00 plus shipping. I got one of these for my 74. It fits OK with a little modification.

The placed I called to restore my OEM.

Here it is installed in my 74.

The one on 73-87 looks nice I may just get it are they a reputable place to buy from

Its my understanding that all the repro dash pads are made by the exact same children in China and the quality just depends on whether yours was built on a day when they fed the children or not ???

LMC Truck has em and seems to be pretty reasonable price. Only thing is they only come in black so you will have to paint to match.
