This old warhorse really impressed me. I spoke to the owner(s) and they assured me that the old 6.2 was still in there. There was a diesel tank in the bed and the truck obviously sees regular farm use. I LOVE seeing these old trucks still working, still earning their keep. @SirRobyn0 I thought you might appreciate this old monster. I took a couple more pics of some other 3/4 tons later just for you, I will mention you when I get them posted.

This super clean '85 only paint scheme really impressed me as well. That is dark blue, not black. The quality of the tan sections had my wife telling me that when we repaint the '87 we WILL go back with the original tan color.

I took this pic because Mrs. Redfish liked the car. I made an ill advised comment about the similarity of their wide and heavy rear views...

That is Amazing! I was seriously considering that color and scheme for my '87 but (thanks to this forum) I found out it was a 1985 only scheme and didn't think it was right to use it.

Thank you for sharing that!

The next four are some buddies from my home parish, three of them have been included in my pics from local events.

Yes, that is exactly what I originally wanted to do. My '87 is tan with a mahogany interior. That limits my exterior options. Brown or that coppery brown and tan were about all I could do.

It doesn't matter anymore anyway. The overwhelming response has been to either not re-paint at all or to paint it back the solid tan just as it is and how it came from the factory. It's funny that in the '80s that tan color blended in and was boring. Today it really stands out and is different.

It's an exceptional vehicle. Duane took over 7 years to build it and it is extremely well done. The nose is '73/'74 with the setback grill, the rest of it is '78. And yes...it does have an LS motor.
Thats funny because the 73 is my most fave nose and i wanted to put it on my 78 lol i got as far as the amber markers...

Redfish Jr. doesn't like getting in the picture but I needed him for a size reference here:

It's more difficult than I realized because the entire radiator support/nose section is different on the '73/'74. You cannot just put a setback grill from those years on a '75 and later truck, it won't attach.
