The Coolant overflow is not a closed system on our trucks and it is not sealed or vacuumed or anything like that.

It simply is a reservoir for excess fluid. It works because the over flow tube is always submerged in coolant. This is what allows the coolant to be drawn back in to the radiator as it cools down. This is why you must maintain a certain level in the reservoir to ensure that the expansion and cooling cycle functions properly.

This is also why I suggest the tank that mounts to the passenger side wheel well because it functions better/easier then the one that is down at the bottom of the rad. It is also larger for a more stable cycle. Its also easier to maintain and see.

As for the washer bottle. It also is not sealed or vacuumed. Having the washer pump motor in the reservoir is a much better design and functions better then the old style. It is very easy to retro one of these tanks and motors in to our old squares. Just be sure to grab as much of the factory pig tail with the new tank. Also the washer reservoir is nearly double the size of the earlier styled reservoirs.
