Well, I got some new door locks for Christmas. I haven't been able to lock up my truck since I bought it and I got some new locks since we are moving into a new apartment downtown next week, my brother-in-law figured I'd like to be able to lock my truck. While I had the door panels off I went through and cleaned out the door and greased up the window mechanism and door latches. Everything is smooth as butter now, feels like a brand new truck! Now I just need a latch for the driver's side vent window and It'll be fully secure :grd:

I hear ya, my 88 sucks, the PS keeps coming undone so you can't use the key and if you lock the DS too far down it'll not unlock by the key unless you do it 15 million times, that drives me nuts lol.

If they're power door locks you might as well get a keyless entry/alarm and get the wing glass fixed when you can. I hate worrying about my vehicles, I'd like to get a simple one for my big truck but I worry muddin it would toast the alarm or make it go off when I dont want it to lol.

Congrats on the new truck parts! :)

I have manual locks/windows/etc in my truck and I'm going to probably leave it that way. Less stuff to break later. Pretty much all I have for options is windshield wipers and a heater lol! Going to swing by the salvage yard this week and pick up a latch for the window. Luckily door locks aren't a big deal here. Not a lot of crime. My in-laws don't lock their house or cars and leave the keys in the cars.
I'm just paranoid...too many years of living in the ghetto.

Your trucks pretty enough you should be using a club as well. I have one just in case my truck ever looks nice haha. The break in kit made by Snap-on is scary effective at making door locks useless.

Were your window channel felt and rubber trim for the windows still good? I need to get mine apart and replace that crap.

Have you thought about getting an alarm too so that you can tell when someone is trying to jack with it?

I don't lock any of my vehicles or garage doors in my neighborhood, but I won't leave keys in the ignition. I only lock my front door to keep family members from just showing up and walking the hell in my house unanounced. This way they have to at least ring the bell. I tell people I lock my security gates on my door to keep my family out and they think I'm kidding. I do have wrought iron security gates on all doors since I used to keep $20,000 - $40,000 in computer parts in the garage along with all of household belongings, guns and tools, and woudl leave town for several days at a time to go buy more computer parts and took my wife and kids with me for a tax write off vacation calling it biz related. And yes, it was biz related. I only have a gun vault to keep valuable docs from burning if the house caught fire and keeping the kids safe.

Felt and rubber are in okay shape. Not great, but good enough for now.

I'm not real worried about it being stolen or broken into. I just have a habit of leaving my cigarettes in the pocket on the dash and I didn't want someone walking off with my smokes. Hey...they're 9 bucks a pack here!

I totally lock my front door to keep my family out too!! My in-laws have a habit of just walking in unannounced.

Yeah, I don't smoke much anymore. Can't afford it. I have to drive to Idaho to get cigs because they're half the price they are in Washington. And I have to take the wife's VW Passat (which I hate with every fiber of my being) otherwise I burn all my savings on fuel to get over there!

You'd have to hope to win the lottery to fuel your habit at $9/pack
