I have never replaced a fuel tank on this model, but from what I can see the sending unit is on top with the lines hooked up to it. There looks to be two different straps that hook onto the rear bumper by two bolts. Is this all I would need to take off in order to drop the fuel tank and put in the new one?

NO unhook the fuel lines or do it as your dropping it. The brackets unbolt from the inside of the frame. I think 4 bolts for each bracket. Unbolt both brackets while supporting the tank with a jack and piece of wood to spread the weight.

You can remove the straps once the tank is dropped

If you remove the straps you still wont be able to get the tank out with out removing the brackets.
