just my 1986 gmc camper special. C2500 350 eng /350 auto trans, 108,000 miles,
(2wd, long bed, single cab,...98% all there like time forgot, patina rust on the top surfaces, as probably never driven in winter as its 2wd, I hope to get it painted over the winter)

even if not in the show: heard of people going to Carlisle with for sale signs / window paint. ...one of my nearby neighbors bought a stingray out of the parking lot like that.
Throw up a picture of it. 99% of the time, you'd get more money if it's got a good patina look to it than a mop-n-glow paint job

If I have it painted, I am going to have a classic car restorer do it, He goes to Carlisle often.

I kind of like the idea of pospho-ing off anything that has orange rust, ...and spraying the whole thing in clear though (so good paint, or no paint, sealed up under shiny clear)

which is what I "guess" is what has happened to this beauty. (from the previous post on this same thread by: @78C10BigTen ) it looks more or less like it,...with that kind of paint loss on the hood / roof.

That truck looks fantastic. It's hard to tell from that shot, it may have some of that wipe on clear on it, judging by the sun spot on the hood where you can see streaking. As someone who has a "cleared" patina truck though, I would advise against that. There are lots of guys that do it and love the look, but it's very hard to get the surface properly prepped and get the clear to adhere. My truck has the clear blowing off in several places, it's starting to look kinda bad.

This is just my opinion, so take it as you will, but I'd do a heavy cut and buff, then either get it ceramic coated or just throw a good top coat of wax on it. That way it's not a permanent thing for the next guy. I thought the clear was great when I bought my truck but knowing what I know now, I won't buy another patina truck if it's been cleared.

Also, as another spot of just FYI, the wipe on clear (particularly Poppy's) has a nasty reputation of starting to lift and bringing the paint AND primer with it. So stay away from that if you do decide to clear, definitely use a good spray on automotive type clear.
