I wentto the local junkyard around home looking for some interior parts today and ended up scoring a cab visor that is just about new. One scratch in it is all and its only about an 1.5" long. There is another one out there that is in good shape just paint peeling off also, this one has lights in it. May get that one and use that. My question is has anybody put one on thier truck? The one I got was put on with sheet metal screws. They had silicone on them so I assume that the guy that put them on was a little concerned about water leaking into the cab. Not sure if they went all the way thru tho, didnt take the headliner down cuz it was in good condition.

Any suggestions? I have the screws that were in there but was wondering of another way to do it. Would rather not use double sided tape either!!

Thanks.

Panhead sheetmetal screws should suffice but I dont know what the screw pockets look like on the visor. Panheads have a large but flat phillips head, self-drilling tip but dont run deep enough to hit the inner panel or headliner. Here's what they look like:

I've used them for bug shields, work great compared to the little plastic clip thingies that come with bug shields.

they come straight from lund with the metal screws, and No they do not go all the way in to the inside, as long as you don't get too long of one.

The silicone is to make sure nothing gets in.

as for putting them on, yes plenty, every truck we have or have had usually has one.

the 92 s-10 we had..

Man, I know those visor serve a great purpose, but I just wish to hell I could get passed the hideous ugliness of them and I just can't. Sumbishes are so damn ugly IMO. I want the benefit of one without the look. :yucky:
