So you have months to peruse for the right truck and bring it home and only need to do the stuff you’re good at. Just throwing out options.
Some call it a labor of love to spend way too much money and far too much time for the end product. For a feeling of accomplishment or something. Or busy work if you’re bored or retired.
You sound like a practical guy with a very busy schedule and a rusty truck that will take a lot of both time and money to get it to the stage of something you could buy ready to roll and still show off your skills fixing it up and makin it pretty.

Thanks, and very true. Eventually sometime later this year I'll just get my CDL license because it'll benefit me both ways on the farm and future career. Especially with Michigan gravel trains they pay good.

One of my friends online told me as long as I know the routing pattern of the transmission lines why don't I just use nicop ? And make my own which is actually a very valid point.

I was just looking on tabco Parts the other night for everything I need it's about $210 minus what I already have. Sometime later this year I'll actually be getting a job with my paint and body shop guy so no doubt I could get a pretty hefty discount with him too.

But of course I will keep up on the lookout for an extra cab and truck.

My personal experience and opinion is to avoid Tabco. They are US made which is nice, but unfortunately the quality of their stampings are really more of an approximation of the shape they are supposed to be.

They will work, but at least the stuff I had installed took a lot of trimming, adjusting, and extra work to get the fit right, way more than other patch panels from other sources.

I’d look at AMD, they have spent a lot of time and money making new tooling that is far superior to the old crash parts that have been around for decades.

Just my opinion on them. Interpret as you see fit.

I mentioned earlier in your post that I have a good cab that I've already done the rust repairs on if you're interested. It's an '82 K15 Diesel. I have a few pics that I can send now and can get plenty later as well.

Thanks! Yeah AMD is my 2nd choice. I had a few items in my cart and was already around $160.00, which isn't too bad considering how good things people say about their products.

Just priced a complete floor pan assembly in Canada. $1500 plus shipping. I guess I'll be doing mine "in pieces". Rockers, floors, cab corners etc. That's a very nice cab brace system. Great idea !
