so how did this change anything? you had 20 mains and 20 rods and were having issues without rods installed

The main were cut 10 under bearings were for a crank cut 20... Rods were not installed

sorry buddy I read it wrong, I read mains were 20 and rods were 10 it threw me off.

I get it now or read it right I should say and yes 10 difference would make it wrong lol.

They gave you the right bearings now you should be able to get it done right. I know my local shop sucks they don't do cranks, they don't farm them out, you are left stuck on you rown going an hour or more away or ship it somewhere to have it done. They told me they had no way to get rounded off head flexplate bolts out of my newer 1 piece rear main crank either. I'm thinking really? I avoid the local guys at all costs.

Cut your plastigage about 1/2" long. Most it will squish out is about 1/16" max. I don't know about other autoparts stores but NAPA definitely carries plastigage.

Glad you got it solved and they took care of you.

In case you don't know, plastigage comes in various thicknesses, based on what range of gap you are measuring. So find out what your gap should be, and pick the color (the range) of plastigage, accordingly. You're probably measuring a gap range of .001-0025".

Just got back from the machine shop they farm out there crank turning they have been using same people for 40 + years and miss labelled the crank mains are 10 rods are 20 not 20/20 as labeled they were very apologetic for the mistake and cleaned polished crank up on the spot and gave me a new free set of clevite 77 bearing..

Glad you got it figured out
