I met a local guy goes out here with his beast. He takes it out there to run. Met him downtown at our yearly car show. Downtown Wylie TX.

Well Mark, it rained out for the second year in a row. I been thinking 85 c20 running 454 4l80e trans to replace the 400, air dam, MT front runners all around and see how fast I can go. I will be there next year!!!! You Squares, get there, would be super fun to have a "contingent" of trucks. Besides, I just want to meet some of you guys, so LETS GO RACING NEXT YEAR!!!

Yes, sounds like fun! Now I know two running... I almost went for 1st time this year. I didn't know it got rained out. When I asked Schrups how his run went he grumbled. So makes sense.
Anyway, guess people RV it there? I'll look into. No RV here. I could take the burb, but too hot with out AC, fridge, tv...hmm.
Plus we don't need to organize anything, meet, eat, have fun with internal combustion engines!

I read up. So people stay in Wendover or SLC? I would assume maybe Wendover crowded or gets booked up? Let us know any suggestions where to stay. We can look into. Hopefully we could hang same place maybe, eat together sometime, or be close at least.
Two years in a row canceled? Man bet that sucks for those who wait ALL year to participate.
Best regards!

Actually three out of two have been canceled. Well SPREAD THE WORD EVERYONE THAT READS THIS!!!!

I have stayed in Motel, tented, RVed, preferer to stay out on the salt. The days can be warm, I take my umbrella, Morell hat, some way to get around, water, jerkey, ice chest. At night because it is desert, as soon as the sun goes down, it cools quickly. We bring wood, and a SOLO stove, craft brew, little moonshine for the truck, (190 proof), comfey chair. Best darn time each time I go. Meet people from all over. Get there you guys, before we're all dead.....snivel, Get out there!!

We may take this car, just finished it, and runs good, but need carb kit and tuned. Bugger VW's, wife loves it, it is a real different deal to work on.They have a 36hp challenge down there, and there are some fast VW's, motors cost more thar my fofiddyfo.
6.2 diesel, almost done, get it running , sell the motor, and Motor swap BBC or LS into the 85 wood hauler. Turbo 454 make a ton of torque, easy to do, relatively cheap, gobs of HP. Polish crank, maybe replace. If replaced, use 1/2 inch stroker. Arp 1800 or 2000 bolts and I would cut the rod caps and hone. need a piston that would give me 10.5:1 port the peanut port heads. Remember this is my wood haulin truck. I have most of the stuff. Trying to work up the fervor, get you guys hooked.
