I went to my local junkyard and found a hand full of old Chevys, one k5 and 2 Chevy suburban. My question is what body panels from those will fit a 1980 Chevy k10. If they would what years should I be looking at? I mainly need a hood, front fenders and doors.

Doors you can get off any year. Keep in mind, if you need power windows, then I believe it's 77 and up doors you'll need. There was also a thickness of glass change if that matters to you. 73-80 glass is a bit thicker than 81 - 91. But any year doors will bolt on and line up.

For the front clip parts, you'll want 73-80 fenders and hood. That's where the hood and cowl are all 1 piece. Truck, Blazer and Burb parts will all work.

The 81 and later hood and cowl are 2 seperate pieces and the hood hinge system is different too.

Thank you very much!! It's a Cheyenne and has the manual locks and windows on it. How hard would it be to hook up power windows and locks to my 80 k10?

Shouldn't be that hard. Get power doors, the wiring harnesses and run them to your fuse block. However, most people with 4x4's prefer not to have power windows. Really, it's just something else to go wrong and wear out. If you ever get into a high water situation, and you get water in your doors, now your motors are gone and windows won't work.

well that's not exactly what I meant. I meant if you use a 73-80 cab use the 73-80 font clip. if you use a 81+ cab use the 81+ front clip. highdesertranger

And the body mount bushings matter too. 73-80 and 81 up is the cutoff for the front clips, frames, bumpers and body mounts. Anything 73-80 will interchange without issues, as will 81 and later. The front frame horns are different so the bumpers matters too. You can always interchange 73-80 to 81 and later, just have to know which parts to keep from whichever year.
