Looking to do a 3 inch body lift on my 87 k10. Its the sm465 tranny 4 wd. Just curious how hard it would be to do. Biggest concern is the shifter. Do you extend it or what? Thanms

it mounts in the trans it'd just be 3 inches shorter inside. I see no real reason why you'd need to extend it. Just reach down 3 inches lower.

as for the kit itself the bumpers and the gas tank is what I hate, hanging down not raised to match.

IMHO, body lifts for these trucks are a waste... suspension lifts are cheap. A 1inch BL is OK since it provides extra clearance for other things, but doesn't screw up how everything works.

I agree. Maybe even a 2 inch wouldn't cause much grief, but I'd damn sure max it right there for a body lift at 2inch. Anymore, you need to start things like extending brake lines, shift linkages and geometry, move bumpers, fuel tanks, clutch line if hydraulic, clutch linkage if Z bar etc. :shitsweak:

Or do a 4 or 6 inch suspension lift. You know there is a cheap way to do a 4inch lift using rear half ton springs up front. C4 has more details about that. That is what I may end up doing since I have plenty of half ton rear springs. Then a cheap block kit for the rears and there you go. I'd actually consider the cheap 4in suspension lift before I'd consider a body lift over 2 inches.
