Just wondering if any of you have a bed cap? Searched the Internet but couldn't find anything. I am considering getting one because it rains a lot around here an I need a place to put my stuff

Does cap mean tonneau or camper top/topper? I had a nice aluminum one on my SWB till a tractor-trailer tire rolled off the mountain and destroyed it. Dont know if kids rolled it off or if it fell off the back of a truck (I'm near the interstate) and bounced its way here.

I guess be thankful it only hit the topper and not something else. Like anything of real value that cost a lot to replace or fix that does suck though

A buddy of mine sold it to me for $50. They are getting harder to find in decent shape.

My dad's old 78' had one just like the one you had. The bed of that truck was awesome. My grandpa owned it before and had built wooden cabinets into the bed with a carpet kit. That was a lot of fun as a young kid, I used to hide in the cabinets all the time, haha.

I got one for free for my stepside, I just had to go get it. It's a really nice fiberglass topper meant for a newer truck (not quite as tall as the cab), but it works fine.

Fiberglass dont do very well on trail twist like aluminum. I had a fiberglass one too and it was cracking and large pieces of fiberglass was falling out of the roof from twist.

Huh, never thought of that. But of course if my little C10 ever sees trail twist, I've probably got other problems to worry about

I HAD a good one till the other night when it flew off the truck that was on the rollback. The back glass was off, I had the truck on the rollback backwards, it caught all that wind trapped inside it, and broke thru 3 of the 4 bolts, and the 4th bolt damaged the hell out of my almost perfect bed and the cap flew off about 30ft in the air did a couple summersaults and landed in the middle of I 240. Luckily no other cars got hit, but came oh so close. It's now trash or I'da given it to you. I'm more upset about the bolt that bent over and pulled the bed flange over and out of the bed which wrinkled it all the way down to the top of the fender well. It sucked bad. I could give a rats ass about the cap, thankful noone was hurt, but am sick about the bed damage.
