Hey my 81 gmc 350 this morning I noticed was not charging the battery I checked it out I went thru some of my connections obviously it’s been hacked a bit in the past. So I did what I could and I also put in a new alternator today, still same issue she runs fine but it’s just on the battery. Wondering if someone can give me a simple explanation of how to check the wiring? I’m thinking there may be a short somewhere or bad ground possibly or those inline bus fuses?

One wire or 3/4 wire alternator?

Assuming it’s one wire, it should go to a bus then to your battery but maybe directly to your battery. There may be a fusible link before the battery.
