I was thinking of putting something on the back cab wall. like carpeting or something. wanted to do something that I can mount my sub and amps to. I was think like a 1/4 inch piece of MDF wrapped in a headliner or vinyl. Any suggestions would be great.

It seems to me that whenever this question comes up, carpet is usually involved. And I remember someone saying they ordered extra carpet when the ordered their floor carpet. Someone else said they used crew cab carpet so the extra would just go up the rear cab wall.

Have you thought about making a package tray and mounting the sub box to that? It was really simple to make my wooden package tray. A couple boards, glued and nailed together. Fit perfectly in place of the original cardboard package tray. Doesn't move at all. Had to move the seat all the wat forward or unbolt it to place the package tray.

I would suggest a little more than 1/4" thick if you're going to mount an amp on it. I would go at least 3/8's if not 1/2". Then go to an audio shop and buy some of the carpet they cover sub boxes with and some spray glue like 89_3&3 suggested.

I've actually got a piece of 1/2" MDF glued to the rear cab panel in my 94 that I have my amp, a pair of distribution blocks, and my power slider mechanism mounted to. I removed the factory carpet piece, attached the MDF with a construction adhesive, then reinstalled the carpet. I simply attached the accessories with short screws, and I don't have screws protruding through my rear cab wall. The rear wall is only a single piece of sheet metal, btw. Any screws you run into it WILL protrude through the back of the cab.
