just installed an LMC tachometer on my 79.

Everything works great just wondering if it’s normal for the needle on these newer digital models to drop down to 6 o’clock when you turn the engine off? It doesn’t seem to have any other “stop“ that I can see.

other than that, it works great and seems to read correctly when running.

Interesting, an OE tach floats around 1500 when off so be careful to only consider feedback from LMC tach owners.

well, LMC told me that their expectation is that it is supposed to rest at zero when the power is off. So they’re sending me a new one.

just in case anybody’s wondering, there is a difference between the LMC tachometer and the one from OER/classic industries.

I got the one from OER today and there is a tab on the face plate under the needle and a little adjustable Stop to set the needle (fine tune) where you want it when the power is off. The one from LMC has neither of these things.
