A temperature control question

I ordered a new temperature control assembly (tca) from LMC and installed it this evening. After hooking up the 3 cables and adjusting them for proper operation, I went to hook up the fan switch and found the female plug in my truck is different than the new fan switch. I went back to their website and looked at the picture of this tca and it shows the exact same switch I have. I've fired off an email to them for help. Has anyone here installed an LMC unit? Did you have any issues? I can purchase a new fan switch but I don't know if it will fit this tca. Any ideas?

Doing a little shopping on various websites and found a switch that looks just like the one on my new temp control. It says it's for 84-91 models. SAY WHAT?! Why does LMC put them on their 74-80 control assemblies? Think I'll fire off another email.

Looks correct. I have only delt with 85+ years and that is the switch and connector for them

I received an email reply from LMC. They requested the order #, year, and make of my truck. As I was retrieving the info from their pacing slip I noticed the part #. It was a 32-0638 which, after going back to their website, I discovered it's for 84-87 models. I actually ordered the 32-0635 for 74-80 models. I don't really want to pull it back out so I asked them if they could just send me the wiring harness connector.

I put in the new connector today. After much studying of the wiring diagrams of both the 77 and 84 fan switches, I cut loose the old wire connector and wired in the new connector. I actually have a heater and fan that works better than it has since I bought it years ago. Before, the fan ran on low speed all the time and I had no high speed.. The new switch actually has an off position. No more constant fan!!!!

It has an off position???, my 86 never had one the fan was always on??..

My 77 was the same way. I always unplugged the connection at the blower motor in the engine compartment in the past.

Guess it is a good thing though, it eliminates mildew build up..

Mildew isn't something we see much of, up here in the high desert of E Washington.

Yeah, don't see it here much either, none of my other vehicles are affected by it without constant air..
