Hello. I'm fixing up a 87 v1500. I got ahold of a 90 k5 blazer that I'm using for a donor. Using doors, fenders, eng trans and transfer case. I would like to use the gauge cluster out of the blazer. Everything was working in blazer. I see the blazer has rear anti lock brakes. Will gauges work in pickup? How much difference is the wiring?

The K5 has an electric speedo while your pickup has a cable driven speedo.

Ok. Thanks. I'm taking everything out of the blazer anyway so swapping complete harness is no problem. Will I have any issues with not having antilock brakes on pickup? I read someplace that the antilock brakes have something to do with shifting that if they aren't working or calibrated the transmission won't shift right. Is that true? Eng,tranny and transfer case work terrific in blazer is why I was going to swap it all. Thanks.

Nope, the ABS is it's own system. If you delete it, everything else will still function as normal. But if you are using everything else, it's really no more work to just keep the ABS. You will already be using the harness, so it's just a matter of switching some of the hardlines over too.

Sweet. That's what I was hoping for. I might swap it all. See when I get to that. Thanks for all the info.
