Looking for some quality answers here hopefully.

The heads on my truck are of the 882 variety which need will need a good cleaning and re and re.

I can pick up a rebuilt set of 624 heads for $100 through a private sale which I could then just throw on the truck and drive.

The issue is that everywhere I read says the 624 heads are absolute junk and not worth spending any money in them.

So I'm debating heavily to spend the $100 on the 624s or take my 882s into a shop and get then magnafluxed to see if there is any cracks and if not rebuild them.

In terms of rebuilding it'll be doing valve seats and valve o-rings.

I'm not familiar with the 624's, but the 882's are decent especially if ported. Not spectacular, but decent. A mild 350 with 882's can move a truck well.
