Is the C30 a Single or Dual Rear Wheel? Cab and Chassis or Pick Up Box?

It is a dually. As of now I believe it will just be rolling frame no bed no cab. The bed may go with it however. I will make sure to keep that point in mind as well. Thanks for the advice.

It could have a cab on it. But it's not a very pretty one.

So it's a dually pick up truck frame. Be sure to specify that since the Cab & Chassis frames are different, and they have different rear axles too.

That appears to be a pretty solid complete truck. And you're parting it out?

If I knew there was a better way I would. I'm having a real hard time with it myself. But I need the whole cab. The truck I bought is in pretty rough shape. Alot rougher than I originally realized. So I am in need of a complete cab and wiring harness. Any ideas?

If that's the case then why not build the C30 and scrap the other one that is worse shape??? Cool C30 btw!!! I like the regular cab duallies :)

I'm really wanting to keep the 4x4 an the. Automatic transmission. Do we think it would be easier to swap the drive shafts in to make it 4x4 and tcase and trans?

I'd have to say you're probably on the right track. I didn't realize you needed a cab too. But yep, I'd want to keep the 4x4 too, so it sounds as if you on the right track. The 454 should bolt up to your Th400 trans too in the 87. You will need to get a different flexplate though. The 454 is an externally balanced motor so be sure to get one specific to the 454. I can't imagine they cost all that much.

The C30 being a manual trans truck, should already have the high hump in it. Not sure if it's deep enough and goes all the way to the seat for space for your Tcase though.

Distance always kills deals. I'd just about be willing to trade my 86 C20 with 454,Th400 for your 1 ton then you'd already be set up for Automatic, still have the 454 and blah blah blah. But I don't think I really need a 1 ton anyway.

If that C30 frame and bed are in good shape, I'd see no reason you couldn't get a buy for it. Someone with a rough shape C10 or C20 could transfer their parts and convert to a 1 ton dually chassis failry easy.
