This will be a fun build to watch. I like the new truck, and it's still a square body! Nice find Clay

well i have been hitting it hard already thought i would post some of my progress while i came inside for a break. here is some pics off the bad spots on the truck.

this the worst spot on the truck it is on the driver bed side. not sure what happened all i know is the previous owner went nuts with a drill and slide hammer and made a big mess.

the other bad spot it is on the front driver side fender. its a small crease shoudnt be too hard to pull out.

i started on the spot on the bed. i figured it would be better just to cut the damaged area out so i can smooth with a hammer and dolly.

this is what the backside looked like, i was happy i cut it off after i seen that.

this is what it looks like now, still need to weld up all of the holes but it is nice and smooth and rust free.

Nice man!! Glad you're doing it right! I know many that woulda just slapped bondo in that and called it a day. Doing it how you did will be MUCH better in the long run for both you and the future owners :)

Thanks guys! Yeah I could have just knocked down the high spots and bondo the crap out of it but I figured the little extra time will pay off later on. Still have about a days worth of welding and grinding but it shouldnt be too bad. I'm just ready to get this crap done so I can move on to the fun stuff.

I have a dent just like that, I never thought to cut out the section, repair it and weld it back together. Nice job by the way.

Thanks man. Yeah all the extra welding sucks but you can make it a whole lot better with it off of the truck.

Well I was able to squeeze in a little bit of work on the s10 before I had to get ready for work. I Pulled the old dash out along with the carpet and headliner, ran out of time before I could get the seat belts and carpet.

That dash would look better in my Blaxer. :D j/k

Oh yeah, if you are sticking with the stock cable driven speedo, I have a factory tach cluster that will work (after calibrating the tach for the V8).

If he isn't, I have a buddy that is. Let me know.

I also have a second tach cluster, but it needs some bad spots repaired on the printed circuit.

The bed of this truck was full of extra parts, when I was cleaning it out I actually found two clusters with tacks and the new dash I got from the salvage had one as well. So I should be good on those lol.

No ****?! I've seen A LOT of these trucks and the only tach clusters I've ever seen (in person) are the two that I have. That's crazy.
