Ok, I thought this would be an easy search but I'm not seeing it.

Truck is an '85 C10, with power windows and locks. The doors have the rubber "hose" wiring conduit from door to body. It looks like it's pop riveted in.

The doors sag a little. I need to rebuild the door hinges, and would normally (my only experience is on older chevys without power stuff) just remove the door, fix the hinges, and re-install.

Assuming I need to remove the doors, how do I handle the pop-riveted hose thing? Do I just drill them out and then re-rivet to reinstall?

Is there a better way to rebuild the hinges with the doors on? Maybe going one at a time?

Thanks for any help.

Got an engine hoist? Use the hoist to hold the door as you do hinges one at a time?

I do, and that's a good idea. I also have a door lift so could go that direction. Funny how I have the tools but hadn't thought about that approach yet.

Yeah, it all depends on how you look at the problem, doesn't it? I looked at it as "how do I deal with those rivets" and should have just said "how do I avoid removing the door".

Hell find a teenage boy and offer him $10 to Hold it....hahaha
Now that's creative...I'm not sure my teenagers would get off the couch for 10 bucks these days. Such is life.

That's interesting. mine appear to be riveted in four points (or maybe that was just the one on the door). I don't think your boot retainers look the same with the 2 screws. Mine's an 85. What year is your truck? NVM. It's an '86. I see your sig.

Update: Was definitely over-thinking this. I just drilled out the pop rivets and will rivet them back in.

Rebuilt the hinges with new pins and bushings. That has gone well. Now...about those vent window rebuilds... :)
