Hello all, new member here. i just picked up a 82 k30 with a 454 and a sm465. the truck has no brakes the guy i bought it from said that it blew a rear line. well i put fluid in the truck and all the lines seam dry, but their is fluid leaking out of the bottom of the master cylinder between it and the hydroboost. Dose this mean that the master is junk? and help would be great! thanks Dennis

Welcome to the forum! I think it would be safe to say it's time for a new one. Be sure to follow the instructions for bench bleeding prior to installing, as it is not just a no-fuss bolt-on part. Good luck and post back the results!

The thing I would check is make sure it is Brake fluid and not Power steering fluid. You said you had Hydroboost, if you have any of those lines leaking, you won't have brakes. If you don't have a power steering leak, than it is like Crazy said, go buy a new Master cylinder, put it on and before you hook up he brake line bench bleed it. If it has been sitting awhile I would bleed the whole system, brake fluid does go bad.:High 5:

I had the same problem with 82 K30 also. It was a bad master cylinder. Replaced that, blend the lines and its golden now!.
