79 GMC K2500 Stering Column - any telescoping columns available

Greetings!

I have a 79 GMC K2500. I am curious to know if there are any GM Telescoping steering columns that would work for my truck. I know there are some older Cadillac and Pontiac telescoping columns - will they work in a 73-87 truck?

I'm pretty sure none will be a bolt in, however, what you could do is use the upper column parts on your original column. I did it with my 1989 Sierra and 1991 S10 using Cadillac column parts and a 1986 Corvette wheel.

It really wasn't that difficult to do once you figured out the mechanisms.

I out a telescoping steering column out of a 1981 Caddy in my 1979 GMC C10.
I cut the harness out of the wrecked Caddy for the column and made a wiring adaptor to plug into the truck harness.
I also had to use the steel plate on the fire wall for the truck.
But it worked for many years.
