Hello all, thanks for having me here. I’m currently building a 79 C15 for my son. We are doing some custom work to the suspension, 4/6 drop, removed the original 250 I6 and Th350, installing a 350 with a TH400. Bought a vintage air kit for comfort as well. Will post pics of the progress if you guys would like. So to the woes, the cab is a mess as usual. Floor pans and rockers on passenger side are gone, previous owner tried a crappy job of fiberglass work on the floor pan ‍♂️. But some time and trimming I can get those replaced. The part I need are the outside cowl panels, mostly on the passenger side since it’s rotten and pretty much toast. All across the front of the cowl at the firewall seam is rotted full of holes. And will all my research I can’t find any of these for my model truck. I don’t understand why no one manufactures these. Anyone here have a descent cab for parts? I don’t have the equipment to fabricate these panels, but I’m on a time crunch with work and the sons 16th birthday 12 months away. Thanks for any help guys

Welcome and cool project! Our truck is for our younger boy. Have 2 years until he turns 16 to get er finished up.

Looks like you’re at least halfway there, have you considered just pulling the cab and replacing it? Might not be more effort than what you have going on.
Around here a guy could buy a solid cab with little to no rust pretty damn cheap.
There’s a guy Who parts out squares here that said he hauls most cabs to the scrap yard. Apparently not a market for them.
I have a little rust on the Side windshield frame and he said he’ll just cut out an A pillar and save it for me.

I’m ok at bodywork but I’m a better parts replacer. At your stage in the game I’d be seriously considering cab replacement over floors, rockers, cab corners and cowl.

Check the Indianapolis Craigslist, auto parts section. I was unable to post the link.
