Hi all,
As I posted before, I recently picked up this C10 Suburban in generally great shape. The biggest problem I know of, is some pretty extensive surface rust in the engine bay. So far it seems to run well, but I will need to address it soon.

The truck is basically 100% stock and original, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to approach this problem. I want to preserve as much as I can, but I don't want to let rust eat away at too much.

Anyone know any good strategies for next steps.

- Aaron

One part at a time. Remove rust use an acid rust converter and paint with POR 15. If rust is eliminated you can paint with engine enamel paint. But it wont last too too long.

Try to find replacement items in better shape.

That's a good idea. A lot of those parts can be found with a good factory finish still, then it will all blend in with the rest of the original parts.

You know I actually really like the finish color of the POR 15 Chassis Coat stuff. I don't think its a stock factory color though its kinda grey a tadd. has a bit of silver powder in it

I like both ideas, thank you! Probably clean and paint what I have while I look for stock replacement parts.
