77 square body no start after replacing ignition switch

My 77 C20 won’t start after replacing ignition switch can’t get it out of park and ignition key turn

  • Could it be a neutral safety switch

Can anyone help please? Replaced ignition switch in 77 square body C20 tilt steering. Can’t get it out of park and ignition key turns freely!

At first take, sounds like you lost the little tab that goes between the bottom of the key cylinder and the sector gear that drives the rack that pulls the rod to do all of the ignition switch functions you are missing.

Google "chevy ignition rack"
