You know AC Delco now has three pricing and quality tiers now. 2 are just your standard parts store offshore garbage that everyone else sells. So they quit losing sales to the lowball chain stores.
No, I didn’t know that.
No wonder the quality and feel felt so cheap. I hope I'm not redoing this particular job in a year or two, but not holding my breath either. It seems that the parts stores stuff is all of a similar 'quality'. Sad state of affairs these days.

God is watching out for me. Thank you God. Well, the boxes were all blue, so some solace in that. I will remember this particular detail on down the line.

But the quality control guy must go out and puff a doobie or three on lunch. Or the crimp operator was pissed that day at the parts he was given to use and said eff it. It ships. Only puttered from the carport to the lower drive and back, seems fine so far.

Went to light burn barrel, and who is looking back....

Sounds like the flex hose to that brake is rotting internally, and allows fluid to in, but but closes off the hose when fluid tries to go the other way. Open the bleeder valve and see if the piston(s) can now be pushed in. If still no luck, the bores in the caliper are probably corroded and are blocking movement of the pistons.

Like anything else, where made has an impact. I'd swear that top box flap says China ... :(

Surprising, but I have had bad luck with parts made in Brazil as well. US, Mexico, and Japan are my top 3 options if you can find them. Taiwan , Thailand, and some of the "lavokia" type countries are another option that seems OK.

Have you checked the proportioning valve? On my '73 1-ton, it's mounted on the cross member under the engine. Mine filled with gunk, got stuck, and locked up my right rotor even though I had replaced both front calipers and rubber lines. I had the proportioning valve rebuilt. I also ended up changing the metal brake lines as the factory lines were splitting at the ends.
