Give these guys a call. You can change the timing and turn up your fuel delivery. But on the stock 6.2s you increase the chance of heads cracking when you do.

does it puff black smoke out when you romp on it, that's one way.

at one point I owned two of the exact same cucv but one was noticeably faster and would give a good puff of black smoke when I hammered down

still slow as **** though

I mean those also make headers for it, but for that price a turbo kit is really the only options for those motors, and even with that your just keeping up

I had often thought that propane/methanol type injection could be the cheapest route to boosted power on these motors, after having read of literal homebrew setups giving pretty substantial power boosts (30% more torque!) on other engines - biggest problems being EGT's (the numbers were on turbodiesels) or any other weaknesses of the 6.2 design. (main webs that like to develop cracks and send crankshafts south, more power would worsen that obviously)

6.2 are funny creatures. One runs sweet, next is a dog. Had one in a buggy that would flat out scream, it took a dump and second one never did run right. Changed over to original pump, played with trimming , ect... Running a non turbo 6.5 in it now, really runs good for a stock engine. I drive a 6.5 turbo in a 96 k3500 and that non turbo runs as good as it does and mine has new turbo, wastgate, and few other mods

It was called a Banks Stinger. Included a new larger snorkel to modify the airbox, adapter and hose for a cold air inlet from the right of the radiator through the core support, Y pipe and exhaust system and EGT gauge.

Don't know if they still make it, because I put mine on well over a decade ago. Livened it up, still with I would have done the Turbo kit but was worried about manifold studs breaking off in the head. And that kit was a lot more expensive. Money was short at the time, as well as was spare time. My old exhaust system (duals) had rotted off and needed something quick.

The biggest downside is the intake resonator is removed and it (the intake) makes a horrible droning noise around 50-70 mph.
