6.2 Diesel cluster

has anyone been able to swap out a diesel cluster, put in a gas one and make everything work?

wondering if its possible or too much trouble

because on my 83 the gas gas is next to the speedo instead of the tach and its really bothering me...

There is no tach on a 6.2 cluster.....

Factory tachs in the under 1ton trucks were gas only. You could install a 2+ ton truck diesel tach cluster.

does it look the same as the rest of the gauges? has anyone done this?
im after a factory look, but i drop an aftermarket tach on the dash if needed.

Does the diesel clusters have the fuel gauge in the tach like this one?

I have a diesel gauge cluster in my 82... The only real difference i see between a gas and diesel cluster is the fact the the BIG Gas Gauge in the center says Diesel only, 80lb oil pressure instead of 60. I would also love to get a tach to work that looks factory. I believe there is company who can make a cluster that looks factory for your application. It was posted on here....i cant find it at the moment

It looks like the one I posted is 80 psi but the fuel gauge does not say "Diesel Only".

Some did have the integrated fuel gauge and some didn't. The main difference between diesel and gas clusters in the tach goes up to 4K RPMs, the oil pressure gauges goes to 80 PSI as opposed to 60 for gas and the temp gauge goes to 240 degrees as opposed to 260 for gas.

^^^ i never seen one of those...... I wouldn't mind trying to integrate that to work with my cummins. I wonder what the pulse reading off of it is...

Very common in big 2+ ton trucks. Watch ebay or check big truck salvage yards.

wish i had that 140 mph speedo in my 78k10, mine dont work much over 85,, hahaha and i can almost do that in 1st gear with 3.73's.......
