It looks like may have to pull my 79 454 part to get the rotating assembly unstuck. The truck set for about 15 years outside and at some point someone took the breather off and since we live in area of high humidity I assume this is what has froze the motor.

If I have to take the motor apart I was thinking about adding a little bit more cam. I do not have the funds for a complete rebuild or big performance parts. My question is if I add a little more cam what else would be necessary to compliment the cam? It has and edelbrock intake and i will use a Holley carb. Supposedly the engine was rebuilt before being parked.

Thanks for your help.

Depends on the cam - but most likely you need to replace the valve springs also. I'd add headers if you haven't already, and recurve the distributor too.

If you haven't done any of this it will be a big boost if you do so !
