283 barn find price??

Found an add on C list for a barn full of squarebody parts with a 283 long block. Im thinking about tosding him an offer on all but guy says he needs at least 200 outta the 283, is this reasonable on a motor in this condition?

A little high. I just bought a complete 283 in my area for $50.

Id just be concerned due to the state it sits in. Im meeting the guy tomorrow so ill see what hes got

Yeah, that sounds like the "it's vintage" price. Not a huge demand for 283's anymore, with 350's being as common as they are. I would consider it if I could hear it run, but otherwise, his target market should be restorers or people that just want it to have it for some odd reason.
