Hello, anyone ever had their np208 pop and bounce away from the trany while in 4wd? I noticed a loose nut tightened it up but it still does it....Any suggestions?
Thanks

It moves? That sounds like no good at all. Does the entire case move like the trans/adapter/t-case bolts are loose? Or does the case itself flex?

When I engage 4wheel low or high and let it idle forward the truck surges and makes a pop thumping sound. So I jumped out with the truck rolling and could see the t case in one corner pulling away every rotation. Must be a broke gear or bent shaft in the t case...

Pull the front driveshaft and then see how it drives in 4hi. That will narrow it down to a t-case problem.

Front/rear tires the same height/brand? 208s are chain drive, you know how a motorcycle chain gets stretched and slips on the cogs, or rides on the cogs funny. Everything sits on rubber mounts so a little movement doesn't concern me much.

There should never be any instance where the T/Case separates from the tranny under load... you either have loose bolts at the adapter or a broken case on the transfer case.
