Hello everyone, new member in AZ. My Dad and I bought an 89 R3500 Dually crew as a project to tinker with my kids on. The original plan (my dads plan) was to just refresh it and use it to tow a travel trailer. The NEW plan (my plan) is to make it a mean street machine. With a 454ci big block and 103k original on the clock she is prime for a build. I am thinking, with it being a 2wd, drop it dare I say slam it? I would love to swap some newer OEM take off wheels, possibly buil the motor into 498. I want to be able to not only pull up to the rice rockets and make them feel inadequate but I want to blow the doors clean off!

Looking for info on lowering the 1 ton. Specifically control arm options? Best kit for the $$

Howdy!

And remember, fast trucks can still pull a travel trailer too :)

If you need a name for theta brute may I suggest Toxic Masculinity. That thing has some serious macho going down.

I would leave the suspension alone and go 496 with some older heads, like 781s.
Throw some cam at it and a HD high stall converter (assuming it has an auto, 400TH).
TBI eh..? I would toss it but that's just me.

Yea, the Alcoa wheels are not my style. I think just some modern OEM aluminum 18in wheels.
