Greetings! We have a 1987 Suburban from a relative's estate. Looking for suggestions on selling. While we are in NY state, the vehicle is from Alabama and has not been exposed to the salt used here. It is original, runs and drives, and we'd prefer it went to someone looking to restore it. Thanks in advance, Mike

I would try Facebook Market Place and maybe Craigslist (if Craigslist even still exists...).

Craigslist still exists, but almost everything has moved to facebook marketplace (which for me is a pain in the you-know-where bcause now I need to find someone with facebook to search for things I might want on my behalf).

You don't have to "join" Facebook to use FB market place. You can remain 100% anonymous.

You can create a "fake" Facebook account, simply for the purpose of the Market Place.

Create a new Gmail account - like: [email protected], or use your existing email to link to you FB page,

Then choose an anonymous FB first and last name of something like: Onlyhere BecauseCLdied

Then just pick what ever picture you like:

My daughter and wife found our build off FB market local, same neighborhood. Took them a week to get me to look at it. It met the requirements of 70's up and running.
Anyway, you'll need to know engine and trans or post Vin, or all. Silverado is nice.

I tried this and got flagged for using a fake name. They wanted me to submit a picture on my ID to let me use the account. It happened a day or two after creating the account. They won’t let you use marketplace for 30 days or so.

I know there are folks using fictitious names, but their accounts are older and more established. I think they are cracking down on that now.

Hmm. Not sure about getting flagged. I have done it successfully more than once, and never had an issue. Most recently within months. The name and picture were clearly fictitious, but had no problems.

Google:

This is news from 2015:

Facebook is making changes to a policy requiring people to use their real names, after complaints that it causes people from certain communities, such as individuals with Aboriginal names, to have their accounts suspended.
