Hey guys/gals, Does anyone know anything about a 16" 6 lug steel wheel? I got these from my Uncle. I am not sure where they originated. I know they were on a 71 GMC 1/2 ton 4x4 that he and my grandpa used as a hunting truck back when I was little (Back in the 80's). I have a 79 Bonanza K10 that my grandpa bought new that has a set of rally wheels on it. I thought these would be cool to paint white or black and put a set of the dog dish hubcaps on with some 235/85/16 or 255/85/16 tires. Here are a couple of pictures.

Man I'd love to have them old Grip Spurs, aka "feed store mudders", lol.

Are the rims 5" wide? They are probably original to that '71, I'd guess. I've got a set, but they are 5-lug for a 2wd truck.

I'm not sure on the width. Id guess 5 or 6 wide. No telling how old those grip spurs are. That's all my grandpa ran on the 71. They very well may be original to that 71. I am trying to get it back now. It has gotten mixed up in some family junk right now. Any idea on the 3 nubs and them working with any kind of dog dish hubcaps?

The nubs "should" work fine with the typical 1/2 ton cap. Or also 80's S-10/Astro caps. Probably 60's-70's Chevy car caps too.

Grip Spurs were actually still available until 2010 or so. At least in the 9.00x16 size, anyways.

They do have a sick period correct look! Theyd probly look good on a 50s chevy truck too.

Thanks! Hoping to use some 1/2 ton caps.

You can get the full on LT235/85r16 equivalent “Co-op Grip Spur” shipped to your house. Deestone 503 in 7.50-16LT is still made in 10, 12 and 14 ply ratings, still bias ply. The Gateway Bias Buckshot is also still made, basically a 33-9.5-16, which in reality is a LOT meaner tire than the Grip Spurs ever were. Unfortunately the Gateway is a load range C, 6 ply equivalent, so 1/2 ton or lighter.
