I want to put some new wheels and tires on my 84 after I drop it. But I want to have something that will make for good handling/cornering. It is and will be an everyday driver. I like the look of 15inch black solid steel but I also like the look of the tall rims also. This is my first square body. I just wanted some opinions from other owners on their preference and why. Thanks

I'm lowered and currently running 16 steelies and hub caps (mine's a 3/4 ton 8 lug). I like the look but with that said eventually I plan to go to a 20" Detroit Steel wheel. in my opinion, anything bigger than a 20" wheels on a square body just looks out of place but that's just me.

I personally don't like rims that are any bigger than 17's. I love the look of the tall fat sidewalls. Tall rims and low profile tires just don't look good to me.

But, I like to play out in the the dirt more than cruising the boulevard.

I have 20x8 up front and 20x12 out back. ..staggered fitment..45 series tires (weight rated) in the front...and 65 series (also weight rated performance tires out back. Truck turns on a dime.

Offroad requires imo a tall sidewall for proper flex. On road and street performance (or in my case where I will be building the truck for rally cross courses)...minimal sidewall flex and speed rated tires is a must along with very mininal if no body roll.
