Is everything identical between a 14 bolt FF from a 87 C20 and from a 1998 truck?

i believe 1998 or there abouts rear disc was an option/maybe standard, so some differences in hardware already on. also consider gear ratio... also consider LSD, etc

Spring perches different location. But shock mounts seem to actually line up fairly well. Just put a disk brake version of a 14bolt FF in 85 gmc

99.5-06 would've marked a difference in axle housing, larger tubes, slightly different shaped pumpkin, disc brakes, perch locations change.
Axle shafts, carrier and all stays the same.

IMO they're the more diserable of all of them, with a little bit of fab work, you can make your own perches and swap them into anything.
Overall they're just beefier than the early models with drums.

As far as the 98, perches change locations I believe.
