    Headlights and dash lights problem

Either the dimmer switch went out on the column or the headlight switch went out. I'm thinking more of a headlight switch because of the headlights not working.

Help wiring CS-144 alternator on 88 GMC suburban

That's where I get confused. My truck I can't find many like it as far as wiring and I can't find a diagram for this. Yeah I took the throttle body off but just pulled the wires back and put them in wire loom behind the engine. I still want all the factory gauges to work. So what do I do with my...

Help wiring CS-144 alternator on 88 GMC suburban

It bolts up. I just have to notch the upper bracket where it bolts to the intake or just remove and not use that bolt. But the clocking is perfect. I just don't want to plug it in and the wiring being wrong and shorting anything out or burning any thing up. Also my truck has the gauge package...

Help wiring CS-144 alternator on 88 GMC suburban

So I am lost on what I need to do. I have a harness but I don't think it's the right one part number 792 duralast. It looks to work for older trucks not mine. I just don't want to burn up a brand new alternator

Help wiring CS-144 alternator on 88 GMC suburban

What about the pink with black stripe wire? Also it never had a heavy gauge red coming off of this plug. It did however have a heavy black with red stripe on the one lug on the back of alternator to positive terminal on battery. This was an all original truck too. No wiring was ever touched on it.

Help wiring CS-144 alternator on 88 GMC suburban

I started to do the CS-144 upgrade on my 1988 GMC Suburban 1500. Originally it was the 350 TBI and I have since converted to carbureted. Well I wanted the better amperage alternator and so I purchased the pigtail harness from Autozone Part No. 792. And the alternator is from a 1994 Chevy caprice...

    1986 HEI extra plug?

I wonder why it does that. But feel free to chime in. It helps us all learn how to fix our trucks. I don't mind it at all.

    What's this?

1986 Silverado 305/350c saddle tanks. No hoses are attached to it. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. And I know about the shorted wire. Still trying to chase that thing down on why it did it. Not sure when though.

    1986 HEI extra plug?

Hey everybody it's been a long time since o have posted on here and was wondering if I could get some help on this. I have a 1986 Silverado lwb with a 305/350C. The distributor is an HEI but has another plug on it. I'm thinking the distributor is going out because it constantly changes timing...

    454 eating starters

My fathers suburban ate starters all the time. Never knew why. It eventually started destroying the flex plate. The timing was good. You bumped the key and it would fire right up but a factory replacement starter wouldn't last but a couple months.

    2/4 drop wheel sizing

Alright so I did the wheels on my 86 lwb. I have 15"X8" with 4" bs. The rear are 15"X10" with 5" bs. Tires are 245/65/15 and 295/50/15. Looks absolutely amazing.

    2/4 drop wheel sizing

That's the look I love but it will be a daily driver so I can't get it too hot roded out. Plus that's why I got my chevelle but man I'd love to do that. Lol. Looks awesome like that. Thank you J Knight for all your help man. It's greatly appreciated

    2/4 drop wheel sizing

Thanks guys for all the help. I'm thinking 275's for the rear. JKnight what size are your front wheels in that picture? They look super narrow for corvette rallye wheels.

    2/4 drop wheel sizing

Man your making me second guess my whole set up. Your making me want to mirror yours cause that thing is gorgeous. Reason I'm asking about the 275 is there is a huge price difference between the two. Also I'm thinking a taller tire might fill the wheel well better being as my truck won't sit as...

Would it be a noticeable difference?

    2/4 drop wheel sizing

Ahh I see. I see you have a lower truck, looks awesome by the way. But was curious would a 275/60 look good in the rear? Also the tire size says I shouldn't mount it on any wider of a rim than 9.5. So could/would that cause problems mounting it on a 10" wide rim? The tires I'm looking at are...

    2/4 drop wheel sizing

I like the look of staggered myself. But me running 50 series tires in the rear look funny if the front are 60? What I'm meaning is the front sit taller than the rear
