Assuming you're talking about the ones that look like: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd-9245?seid=srese1&gclid=CMzKx96buMgCFQwwaQod458Gdw I use one of these on a 600 eddie as well, work great. Just becareful any time you are messing with your fuel line, I've had it unscrew itself a...

    Fuel in My oil pan

I have the tv made easy kit on it, so its the two gaskets that came with that kit As soon as I buy a real rubber strap wrench I'm going to change it again. I replaced the carb this year, march or april probably The gas cap has a vent, it lets air into the tank but I don't think it...

    Fuel in My oil pan

took the old fuel pump apart today, diaphragm is in one piece. So either way at this point the fuel pump isn't the problem. I don't want to ruin an oil change if the fuel pump wasn't the problem. Diagnostically what else can I check before I fire it back up?

    Fuel in My oil pan

Drained the oil and installed a new pump today. Yesterday when I checked the dipstick it was 6 inches or so past the full mark and smelt of gas, when I measured the oil from the change today I only got a little more than a gallon of oil out of drain pan. Completely lost on this one. Tomorrow...

    Fuel in My oil pan

Friday night I tried to take old rusty out and the truck wouldn't run once off choke. I called it for the night and got back to it today where it still wouldn't run, pulled my dipstick and my oil level is way too high, also smells like gasoline. I have a 1406 eddie on a mild 350, mechanical...

    Throttle Valve cable issues

I'll take a picture tomorrow but I dont think a deep pan would fit, it would hit the crossmember, a plug would be nice, but i still have to remove it for a filter change.

    Throttle Valve cable issues

Is there any way to drop the tranny pan without taking off the cross member? I tried jacking up the tailstock a little but its still not enough.

    Throttle Valve cable issues

I recently replaced my carb with a 1406 and have been having issues with my shifting on the rare occasion i test drive the truck. I have a 700r4 and i bought the summit racing correction bracket along with an edelbrock mounting bracket for the cable mount. When I tried the recommended...

    new carb dieseling

Okay, dieseling has stopped. I pulled the timing back to what sounds right and checked it, around 8 degrees. I then tightened down the carb a bit more and loosened up the throttle linkage- which might have had too much tension and was cracking the throttle open. Here's the last thing: I'm...

    new carb dieseling

throttle screw is almost all the way out and the mixture screws are pretty far in, its a new 1406 with off road needles and seats. advancing the timing to around 12 doesnt seem to make much of a difference. Do I need to go further? also, whats a good idle range for park/drive?

    new carb dieseling

Just installed a 1406 on a performance eps 2701 intake after numerous problems. I put in the off road needles and seats and adjusted the floats on the carb before I installed it and am running a holley fuel pressure regulator around 5 psi peak. I'm idling around 850 park 650 drive and...

cruise control linkage for a edelbrock carb

I've recently replaced the holley carb in my 84; due to leaks and poor running conditions, with an edelbrock 1406. My truck has a 700r4 transmission so I installed the geometry corrector from summit. Now here's my question: when the p.o. installed the 350 and 700r4 he didn't reconnect the...

    Bypassing ESC

http://imgur.com/UeSv7xv Heres a pic I got of the casting number. Do I need to splice the two pink wires together that go to the cap or are they fine as is? They both go to the same connector.

    Bypassing ESC

I went to install a new hei distributor today and had the unpleasant experience of learning what electronic spark control is. I've already bought a HEI distributor and would like to install it, from what I've read I can just ignore the wire harness, my question is do I need to bridge the two...

    A couple fuel related questions

i think this was the culprit, I bypassed the switch the other day and there was a lot of pressure/fuel when i pulled the return off, and very little when i pulled the supply. Started it up and my radiator started leaking pretty bad so I shut her down for the night, wasnt in the mood for it...

    A couple fuel related questions

Just a little update on my issue(s): Well I done goofed. I re-ran some fuel lines to get angles I was happy with and checked the fuel temp at running temperature- somewhere between 200 and 210 oil temp. That didn't fix it. Doesn't look like vap lock or line restrictions The fuel...

    A couple fuel related questions

Would that leave the carb dry or would there still be fuel in the bowls? As far as I can tell nothing is touching anytjing hot, but my carb fuel lines are close to the block. When it dies there is still fuel in the carb.

    A couple fuel related questions

Just a little update: been running the truck a few times this week, works fine until it warms up ( on the left tank). I ordered a carter pump that puts out at 6.5 psi max. Now I'm looking for a sending unit for the right side. Who makes a good quality sending unit that will read correctly? I've...

    A couple fuel related questions

Tried the gas caps, no dice. That would eliminate a vacuum issue right? And im pretty sure im using the switch correctly.

    A couple fuel related questions

I hope not. When I changed the selector I was able to drain about 8 gallons before I ran out of gas cans... it came out pretty clean just smelled really old. Last time the right was used was in 09. So I either pulled in trash from the right into my main or its my pump? I dont have any problems...

    A couple fuel related questions

I checked all the lines but havent done a flow test yet, I appreciate the info on the selector valve and I make sure to hold the switch down until the gauge changes over. I dont believe it is an issue with the switch because I drove several days without issue When I got my new wheels. If it...

    A couple fuel related questions

I've recently been working on my fuel system; changed the selector solenoid for dual tanks, replacing fuel lines, installed an inline filter, and pulled the brass filters from my 80670 holley carb. Well that instigated several other problems: My right tank (sat unused for 5 years) still...

    New Member in Texas

Good eye! I tried some 235/75's but they're just too narrow for my tastes. Not quite happy with the stance yet, the p.o. had it pretty low with some 50/60 series and I still have to put the stock shackles back in the back.

    New Member in Texas

Howdy from Texas! I recently came into possession of an 84 lwb after someone ran through a stop sign into my toyota. I've always been a fan of the square body trucks and my brother was selling his, so once my insurance came through i wrote him a check. Here's a picture of the truck, just put...
