Just fitted an 81+ front lip on my 77. Pics

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here on a while, I lucked out at the pick n pull a couple days ago and scored a lip off an 83. With some minor drilling and heat gun work, bit of trimming this is how it turned out.

    Custom aluminum door trims

Sorry guys I haven't got to the dash insert yet, I ended up doing an engine rebuild so I'm in the middle of that right now, I figured it was more important to do first

Just picked up Vortec 062 heads, advice?

That's what I was thinking, so I guess I need to find one single pushrod...

Just picked up Vortec 062 heads, advice?

Anyone know if I need to use the pushrods from the vortec engine or the stock ones from mine? The ones from the vortec truck are shorter, but the same otherwise. One of my stock ones was bent.

    Poor Man Valve Job

Just burn the deposits off with a handheld propane torch, works great! I'm literally doing it right now.

Running wayyy too rich, mechanical fuel pump?

I've been reading on a few other forums that this is pretty common. The floats are adjusted spot on, and the needles/seats are brand new. It's getting enough air I'm sure of that, all signs point to the fuel pump at this point. I'm going to find a low pressure fpr and try that out, but first...

Hmmm, at a cold choke position how far open should the primaries be? Carter 9635/ edelbrock 1406

Running wayyy too rich, mechanical fuel pump?

Ok guys, I have had an increasingly worse problem with over fueling going on. At first I figured it was the carb, (carter 625 4bbl), so I rebuilt that back to factory spec. Re-installed and test drove, problem was still as bad, if not worse. Engine has been misfiring like crazy and spitting...

Just picked up Vortec 062 heads, advice?

who are we even talking about here anymore? I was looking at the summit cam to be a cheapskate, should work fine with the vortec heads at max .466 lift. I might do a minimal amount of machine work just to be on the safe side. with that being said, anyone with a square bore vortec compatible...

Just picked up Vortec 062 heads, advice?

I left the hardware there, but I made sure to take the valve covers, I'm aware they're different. I think a mild lift cam should be a good upgrade with them

Just picked up Vortec 062 heads, advice?

Went to the wreckers today to look for a pair of rally wheels, ended up pulling a set of heads. Found the wheels too. So anyway, I know I need the proper manifold to run the heads, I'm looking to see if I need anything else, or if I would greatly benefit by adding anything else. I'm fairly new...

    flipped and widened rally wheels

These were mine on my old VR6 swapped golf in the pic. Factory passat wheels widened from 6" to 8" using a set of donor wheels. That was my first set, when I was 22, ran straight as an arrow.

    flipped and widened rally wheels

I'm a machinist and welder and used to widen wheels professionally haha, was more or less just looking for pics, the work itself is no problem for me

    flipped and widened rally wheels

I want 10 or 11 inch wide rallies in the rear. Been toying with the idea of cutting out the centers, flipping and rewelding into a widened barrel. Anyone done anything similar on here?

Or if anything go around a half inch higher, a little forward rake never looks terrible. At the moment it's totally level

Here's a pic of the truck for reference. I'd like to stay as close as I can to this ride height

    Custom aluminum door trims

I knew this question was inevitable haha. At the moment I'm super busy getting my new garage finished along with working on the truck whenever I can, once life is a little more calm I would like to probably do a run of five sets to sell depending on demand. I'm sure they would sell no problem...

    Removing Leafs on flipped axle

I do have the 56 in leafs. And belltech drop shocks. I was hoping to get away with just removing leafs for now as I'll probably be scrapping the leaf rear end by next winter anyways. Maybe if I remove 2-3 leafs and it changes the ride height I could compensate at the shackles. I'm not really too...

    Custom aluminum door trims

Hey guys, so I'm redoing my interior over the winter, and ran into a dilemma with the rectangular door trims. I couldn't find replacement without straps, and was never a fan of the pattern they had in them from factory so I made some out of aluminum. Heres some pics. The...
