    Im finding all kinds of hacked up fixes. The plastics on this truck are brittle. This thing has a cap on one side and open to the atmosphere. What is this? And what does it connect to? Maybe there is a diagram of the emissions tubing for a 1987 R30 454/TH400 TBI?

    My installer had the same recommendation: update the alternator for most non-competition applications is all I needed. However, my existing alternator is strong, and it's cheaper to install the aux battery then to replace the alternator. And I can run the audio without running the engine.

    No, There is a normal ground that runs to the engine block. This truck has 59K Miles. It's pretty clean. This ground on the core support is pretty hefty. I want to say it is more like a 10 gauge wire. Yes. This connection is pretty hefty too I concur with this statement.
