    07 Yukon For Sale

OMG, like I need another project! Got the 2 79 crew cabs, a 60 F250 4x4, and just picked up a 95 K2500 that needs a lot of TLC. Plus the XR250 with a leaky carb & Polaris 330 with a bad starter! I'd love to find a GMT900 3/4 ton duramax-swapped Burb, but the wife wants the new body style.

    07 Yukon For Sale

Selling my 07 Yukon SLT. Here's a link to the ad & pictures: https://amarillo.craigslist.org/pts/d/amarillo-07-gmc-yukon/7930446757.html Great vehicle, wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country; but time to upgrade to a suburban. Hit me up if interested.

1988 Crew Cab 454 TBI Knock

Damn! Just picked up a 95 K2500 & was hoping it had a roller cam.

1988 Crew Cab 454 TBI Knock

If you didn't know this already, make sure the lifters & pushrods all go back in the same holes they came out of. Being a TBI, would it have a roller cam?

    87 v3500 6.2 engine replacement

If budget is a serious concern, I'd look to a big block or a 6.0 LS. You will not be happy with a small block or 5.3 in a 1 ton(ask me how I know). Injector pumps are crazy expensive for the 6.2, heads are prone to stress cracks; just a lot of stuff that can get expensive really quick, and all...

1988 Crew Cab 454 TBI Knock

If you wanted to completely rule out top end first, you can pull the intake & check the lifters & cam easy enough with the motor still in the truck. I've also pulled & replaced heads with the engine in the truck(on a 6.2 diesel, no less). All done outside in my driveway. If it's a 4x4(don't...

1988 Crew Cab 454 TBI Knock

Maybe stick a borescope into all the cylinders to check for damage? At least start eliminating possibilities. I think just trying to judge by the noise, you're going to get as many different opinions as people you ask.

    The Quest For Overdrive . . .

I had a 91 K1500 with the NV3500. The TBI 350 lasted over 300k. The trans had to be rebuilt twice in that time. Completely stock motor.

255 vs 285 metric 33” tires on factory wheel

I just put a set of the Falken 255/85 MT's(E load rated) on my dually. I previously had 305/70's. Never any problems with the 305's except uneven wear due to being mounted on such a narrow rim(dually wheels are 16x6). Discount Tire wouldn't mount the 255's because they spec a minimum 6.5"...

Want to swap my 6.2 hard to start

The only reason to ditch the diesel is if the hard start is due to low compression. I can maybe see it also if the injector pump is bad, as that is a pricey part.

High back blazer buckets in a C10

I put buckets & a center console out of a suburban in my K30. Had to drill a couple additional holes in the floor & welded on nuts from the underside. Only kind of difficult part was making custom brackets to connect the front inner seat mounts to the floor. I guess the floor pan is different...

    1977 Black Truck Tan Interior???

My C30 is black with a tan interior. I think the look is great. I would not go black-on-black. Almost all new vehicles now have black interiors & I'm not a fan.

How do I bypass the factory radio completely so I can just listen through Bluetooth?

If you do a little more Amazon searching, I'd bet you could find a similar device that has a 4 channel output...

How do I bypass the factory radio completely so I can just listen through Bluetooth?

I used this guy in my 60 F250: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D9N8M9GS/ Cheap, easy, has a rotary volume control, 2 channel output. It drives 2 4x6's very well & I use my phone to control the music.

Save Money On New Vintage Gauges this month

I'd agree on the oil pressure gauge range & add the same argument for the tach & speedo - who's going to run any pickup to 140mph or spin the motor anywhere close to 8k. 100 mph & 5k RPM would be a lot more useful for most...

    2.5 Ton Axles for 1974 K20

If you're really committed to doing it, you might find more info at Pirate4x4. Lots of hard-core wheelers & fabricators over there. I'd agree with everyone else that putting Rockwells under it relegates it to a dedicated off-road rig.

Timing at 25 degrees advanced - harmonic balancer slipped?

You can get pretty close holding your thumb over the plug hole while somebody rotates the engine by hand & just feel for when the air stops pushing out. Just helped a guy time a 383 with no timing pointer doing this.

Opinions on best newish Suburban or Tahoe

My Yukon is a selectable 4wd with low range. Think it's just the Denali models that are awd.

    1985 C20 6.2 diesel A/C repair

Can you link the kit you purchased? My 6.2 hasn't had functioning air in over a decade, but I'd be happy spending $350 to get it working again.

    Cheap Horsepower

When they could get that car to run, it was awesome! Seems like every time they drove it, they broke it.
