    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

I hear you there! Guess it would be the same putting it that way. You can not get carburetor parts from a regular parts store easily anymore so you would need that rebuild kit ordered online just the same as the TBI parts.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

:ACDelco isn't routinely stocked at your local parts store, but is readily available online: Yes that's why I asked about parts store. So you guys with TBI order good parts and hold them for the possibility of a future breakdown?

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

It is easy as long as you have access to the parts and good parts at that. That was mostly my concern. If I had a carburetor, mechanical fuel pump, and HEI distributor all I would really need is a back up module for the HEI and a back up fuel pump and that is pretty much it as far as being...

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

And I know everyone talks about drivability and reliability but I've had some carbureted vehicles that drove way better and got better fuel mileage than stock injected vehicles. I have to a it's all in the carburetor tune.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

So we're talking ACDelco parts from a parts store? Or dealer? I figured dealer wouldn't stock most of the stuff for these trucks being 30 plus years old

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

You can get a copied computer? I kinda figured they would need the existing to get the Vin out of it?

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

Saying setup drivability wise or reliability wise? And let me ask this, if you where going on a road trip what kinda parts would you take for possible TBI issues? I usually try and stay prepared and bring parts that I think might strand me. Belts, hoses, fluids, tire repair, etc.... I know...

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

I'm not saying I'd rather have TBI than carb right now but I am intrigued hahahaahah.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

What info does the ALDL see? Can you see live info and make changes or just read codes. First I'm hearing about it. Kinda new to TBI, went from a 76 GMC to a 2002 2500hd which I had HPTuners and did all kinds of stupid stuff with. Now I'm going back......not a fan of new stuff. Way too much...

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

Sounds awesome! So it was drilled for a mech pump?? I haven't checked mine yet but being a 91 (well probably a 91 I haven't checked the block numbers yet) I am guessing it isn't drilled.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

Yes yours will be much easier wiring wise. Did you pull the mechanic fuel pump plate and see if it's drilled for the rod? Are you reusing your carb and distributor or getting all new? I wish I had found an older 3\4 ton suburban for this very reason but I couldn't pass the deal I got. If only a...

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

Hey guys and girls just curious on how many people regret swapping out there factory TBI to Carb. I have a 1991 V2500 Scottsdale 6+ inch lift on 37's that has been swapped from 4l80e to Th400 so take transmission out of the equation. The truck is extremely basic to begin with and with the...

    Charging issue

1 more question, I do not have a sense wire connection in my plug, only brown on L and Pink with black trace on F\I . What is the pink\black wire and why no sense wire? Would it be a good idea to connect a sense wire? Actually 2 questions hahaha

    Charging issue

Ok throwing in a question. I just put a reman CS130 in my 91 burb. With the lights and AC (only front rear ac not hooked up) the idle drops and lights dim a little. The voltage drops to 12.7ish at idle, and floats between 13 and 14.2 while driving . I don't have a tach but think she idles too...

Finally did it! Bought a suburban, what now?

I was surprised the TBI 350 and TH400 did between 10 and 12MPG (very light footed) on the 4hr ride home. That's with the 37SS's I would say if you keep the skinny petal under control you would see every bit of those MPG's. Although when buying a squarebody Burb the last thought on your mind...
