Speedo cable length for 81 c10 6 cylinder saginaw

Well, I fixed it now. Pulled the inner cable out and lubed it with graphite spray.Put its back in and no more jumping. It doesn't move at all. Harumph. Measured it while it was out, 62". I do not know where I got 105". The cable slides out of one end or the other and nothing. I fix these...

Speedo cable length for 81 c10 6 cylinder saginaw

Hey, my speedo cable is going wonky in my 81 C10 4.1L 250 6 cylinder, with saginaw 3 speed tranny. I put a cable in a few years ago and it was 105", and it was too short by a little. Now I look, and the longest is 80". What? cannot find a good listing and LMC doesn't say how long theirs are...

What have you done to your square lately??

I drove a ford- A 74 F250. It was so bad that my "Ralph" felt like a caddy lack. It's one of my next customer cars (or truck) coming in next month. If you imagine doing almost nothing to a truck for 50 years you can imagine how it rides. Suspension drooping in front so it rides on its twin...

Anyone ever make/crimp their own high pressure hoses?

I install Vintage air systems, and have crimped on the ends with a very fancy crimper that I rent from them. They are available for rental elsewhere. Its easy to do.

Also, at Napa, don't buy by the foot. If you can handle 20 or 50 feet, a whole "box" is about the cost of 10 feet. This applies with all hoses, loom, and more.

Looking At Buying 1997 Cheyenne C1500 As Daily Driver Feedback Please

First off, if its coming from a dealer, you need to have it thoroughly mechanically gone through. Second, Keep both. One or the other will need service at times, and you will be unable to drive. So, keep the honda and the truck. If you cannot afford, your wife is right.

What have you done to your square lately??

So, I fixed a rattle in my dash. The brake release bracket became loose where it bolts in immediately behind the dash. Rattle gone. I then screwed around with my hood, which was up on one side, and could be pushed down. I tried raising the rubber stop, which did not help. Lowering the latch...

Doesn't look like these will work with roll up windows, or at least you will have to take the cup out to roll the window up. Just be careful out there.. They look nice, but, only for power windows. Sorry. I also am fighting the cup holder battle.

    Jack question

I didn't have any of the jack parts so I have a scissor jack behind the seat, and I installed a shelf using those two bolts. I use it for tools when I'm working on it. May make a bolt on box to hold oil and coolant some day.

    Like a Rock

Thanks bextreme04, the gear driven actuator I got was from Chevy, and a chevy part. It plugged straight into the existing wiring. Never had a problem getting 4wd again. No idea what the part # was.

    Like a Rock

A story about my non square 96 Suburban. 7.4L big block 4wd. "white whale". This story is a brief story of my adventure to get the 4WD working. At the time, we lived in Grand Junction Co. There was a tremendous area north of town, wide open off road trails. BLM land. So, I took the whale out...

What have you done to your square lately??

My truck never had a front sway bar. Pulled into the shop earlier this week to try installing new sway bar from Classic industries. Not the right bar. 10" too wide? must have been for a 4WD. Not sure. Wrong brackets. Put it back in the box and returned it. Listing was for a 2wd. While at that, I...

LMC pre bent fuel and brake lines

I bend whatever I need myself. I do this frequently in my shop, so I have a good flare tool and buy the line in Sticks, or get a roll when I need more that 3 or 4 feet.

Varajet Idle stop solenoid part number

The bolt pattern on this Varijet II carb is weird, and you have to change the manifold, as there are no adapters available that I could ever find. The manifold is the head (they are integral) and you need to change the entire engines cylinder head, which I have, but After starting the new head...

Varajet Idle stop solenoid part number

I went through the Rochester manual on the carb, and the part numbers aren't listed. So, I have to take my truck apart to get at it. Luckily, I am going to remove the carb for other work (i need to adjust idle mixture) in a few days. Can you wait a few days for the number (if there is one)

    Where to go for alignment?

I paint two parallel lines on the garage floor, usually 72" apart. One side must be perfectly straight. I paint the lines with a level or other long straight edge. Perhaps for a square you may need more that 72", like 75". Drive the truck between the lines. I use a carpenters square to measure...
