‘75 C30 Fuel Tank Selector Knob

Not sure it’s the factory knob but it works. Hopefully some day in my travels I’ll find a GM parts manual to see exactly what was there. Who knows, when I pull the seat to repair the slides it could be under there. Wanted to make sure I did show the knob on, it might help someone search for this...

‘75 C30 Fuel Tank Selector Knob

A quick set of pictures I got while crawling around on the concrete of the switcher valve. The one wire you see cut, that’s a crazy story. The fuel gauge would only work when the e brake was at a certain spot. I did check the pressure differential switch, electrical wasn’t mixed up. I did ohm...

‘75 C30 Fuel Tank Selector Knob

I’ll guess since the majority of cab and chassis were being sold to fleets GM put the cheaper of the 2 on.

‘75 C30 Fuel Tank Selector Knob

California banned leaded gas in the early 90’s. As far as the switching unit being cable, no idea. I have seen where some mentioned in ‘75 it only came in Cab and Chassis with a Big Block. I haven’t found anything to confirm this. I’ve also seen that many have been swapped to electric due to...

‘75 C30 Fuel Tank Selector Knob

Didn’t take one. I believe it’s 6 ports and the cable operates it. It’s on the right hand inner frame rail, no electrical as the fuel gauge sending units are wired to a switch behind the dash that is triggered by the cable.

What research I have done is the truck got the NL2 Aux tank package. Each tank is 20 gallons. As far as I can tell the tanks are just off the shelf parts GM used in the other C/K series of this era.

And I know it came off as rash, I am sorry for that and not the way I wanted to start as a newbie. I am admin on a large forum as well as a very large Facebook group for a certain model truck. We hate when those come in and ask us to do the work for them when it’s obvious they spent no time...

The C30 cab and chassis with the big block in 75 was for sure a factory deal with a cable. I’ve seen it referred to a NL2 option and that checks out with a wiring diagram from 75. There is a switch on the cable hold down behind the dash that sends the tanks float level wire to the gauges.

Yes. It’s a bit of a legend to the LUV group guys. I told my wife I had a 2K budget. I spent 2K on a trans, 2K on a rear end, 2K on rims……you get the picture.

I believe it will. The stock one was black, looking for that. I know I could get one to fit and work perfectly but for some reason I like the chase to find original parts. It makes no sense as it’s not a show truck, it’s just a habit I have hunting down stuff. I guess it’s the thrill of the chase.

Hello. First time Square Body owner here in California. I bought this 75 C30 with a 454 about 6 months ago. Story on the truck it was bought new in Burbank California by a contractor. About 8 years go it was sold to another business in Bakersfield. A company I worked for bought that company and...

‘75 C30 Fuel Tank Selector Knob

I have a 1975 C30 big block truck. I am missing the fuel tank selector knob. This truck has the push pull cable on the center of the dash. I’ve looked at every parts company that sell parts for the truck, no listing. I’ve been told it’s a 75 1 ton with a big block only deal, can’t confirm. Does...
