Trying to fix up dual tank fuel system

the molded pins that the trim of the door panel hooks to with a speed nut. -

the door panel push on pins on my 74 k10 broke. has anyone tried to repair these with success. the material is getting brittle and the pins broke while repainting. also the pins with the nut on them twisted off during removal. any thoughts. thanks. -
