Pinion angle for lowered SWB Square?

You arent the only one , maybe just on here but this isnt really a performance oriented forum. I run 4.5 degrees and have no problems at all, when i ran 2.5 degrees i was playing jump rope when spinning the tires

Help identifying what gears I might have

Pretty easy, Mark the tire in one spot and the driveshaft in one spot with paint/chalk. Then turn one of the rear wheels 2 full revolutions and while doing that have someone count how many times the driveshaft rotated. So if the driveshaft turns 3 times and the tire 2 times thats a 3.00 ratio...

Pinion angle for lowered SWB Square?

Sorry I didnt reply earlier I missed this reply somehow. It’s hard to explain but with a leaf spring car/truck essentially you want 5-7 degrees negative pinion angle. With ladder bar/4 link only 1-2 degrees! Imagine if the driveshaft formed a perfectly straight line to the rear axle this would...

Pinion angle for lowered SWB Square?

So Keith you are saying you never had tire shake with those 12 trucks so this guy shouldn’t check his pinion angle either since you didnt Have to? Did you verify the angles on those 12 jobs or did it just drive smooth so no worry? Im not being smart just wondering since you seem to have the job...

Pinion angle for lowered SWB Square?

Yeah it makes a big difference when your truck makes enough power to spin the tires on dry pavement. If the angle isnt close it will have bad wheel hop which is super violent if you’ve Ever dealt with it. That said I have corrected mine on my 5-7 drop and the best way to do it is to go over to...

I wish the mounting tabs weren’t made from the most brittle plastic known…that said they still stay in place but its annoying for an expensive kit

    Lowering the front and rear

If you flip the rear without spacers on top of the springs you could get away without a notch, but for the 7” lower (which just means 2” blocks on top, it needs a notch and the rear will just about be touching the bottom of the bed. In this pic I have it flipped and 2” spacer under the rear...

    Latest mystery.........

Id guess if the baseplate was Loose enough that it had a vacuum leak then you sealed that thing, it suddenly got rich since it has less air coming in (no vacuum leak now) maybe its been that way and was tuned to match and make right by a previous owner IDK just another thought for you

    Finding an alignment shop

I align mine in my garage with tape measures and a camber gauge. I had it done at a shop in Colorado Springs thats been around forever and aligns many show cars muscle cars etc. and they did a poor job with camber. It’s not that hard, when I aligned cars at firestone in the 90’s we had the laser...

How much more power can a 5.3L make without hurting road manners or gas mileage?

Id say turbo if you want the mileage and idle quality to stay the same. The turbo will suck down more fuel when you are close to boost or in boost while driving but when driving lightly with traffic and idling it should be the same for you. IMHO never change the cam unless you want that choppy idle.
