Lights problem
Welcome aboard! So are you saying there is power going into the fuse block, or power coming out of the fuse block and the wires headed to these lights are hot, or both? If you have power to the wires going to the lights I'm thinking inline fuse possibly.- BR@NDON

Valve seal replacement
I did valve stem umbrellas a while back and just remember using the piston to stop the valves. I'm sure that's not the preferred method, but the rope idea seems a little out there to me. The tool is definitely the way to go and will make your life easy.- BR@NDON

What have you done to your square lately??
Looks good! Are the needles a lot darker than the speedo or is it just the glare? -
Head gasket symptoms.
I wouldn't say head / intake gaskets are easy, but they are rather simple. Have a place to work that is clean and an area where you can lay all the accessories and parts down that you have to take off to get to the manifold and heads. And make sure you torque things up properly on re-assembly...- BR@NDON

temperature gauge spinning wildly
Should be on the drivers side head...not manifold. My wire was exposed and grounding out, did the same thing.- BR@NDON

Square on the Interstate
x2 on suspension and brakes I've driven mine from Dallas to Los Angeles area and back at 75mph with no issues. The real test is when someone pulls in front of you and slams on their brakes..- BR@NDON

Gas tank parts
Welcome to the site! My tank was leaking because one of the ports came loose at the sending unit manifold a while back. Nothing like getting it fixed and not smelling raw fuel every time you walk around the rear. I'm not sure about the selector valve part. -
Bvllsh!t on craigslist.
No kidding, my kids would have killed for those when the burb was our primary family hauler.- BR@NDON
