Break in procedure
When the break in was done on my engine, we used Castrol GTX 10-30w, ZDDP Plus. A 165 degree thermostat. Also took time filling the cooling system. Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?
For the oddness mix. 1986 was the "special" year. Last year of the true carb atop the 350, but the first with a one piece rear main. I want a rear sliding window!
Even I can say, if you do run across the rare wrecking yard, and you find a square with the window and it has the chrome trim in it? ...That is the reusable one, GRAB IT! It takes some patience, but you can get that strip out and makes it so you can work the old window free, and with far more... -

...Everyone has their preferred carb, and it can vary heavily from person to person. Edelbrock has by far the easiest to maintain. That is beyond awesome info to be given. A wholehearted thank you from me Danderson. My only regret with my elderly Digital Delco is the fact the screen isn't lighting up correctly anymore. No dash or tail lights, this is WEIRD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Checked for Kev, the main 12v in, the red wire is showing full battery voltage, well the standing at 12.41 the 12v fused in, #5 orange wire shows 11.31, so a slight fault? But power is getting to the switch, I checked for continuity on the other switches I swapped with, and they did feed power...- CrazyArk

Trouble identifying these heads
They are #14079261. What little I can glean off the web successfully is they are 1986 350 SBC heads for a pickup, I've seen mention of implying they are related to TBI, and quite a bit of single year, so I am starting to guess after all my trucks engine could very well be the original, minus the...- CrazyArk

Replaced My Gauge Cluster - Quick Question
If it helps when I first got my 1986, I had to redo the lights on my own cluster, took fine grit sandpaper to the contacts on the bulb socket and the PCB, incidentally painted the guages too. It took that to get a good contact surface to provide power to the bulbs again, and they all work... -
